This extension allows you to access the Application Menu from the left side of the menu bar. There are other extension that do something similar but they had compatibility problems in the past. This extension is very simple and only uses a jGNE filter routine to hook into the system. No traps are patched in the installation of this extension. For simplicity and compatibilty reasons AppMenu displays no icon or any indicator that it is installed. What it does is watch for a mouse down in the upper left corner of the menubar. If you click in that area (a 12 x 12 pixel rect) it will pop up the Application menu right under the menu bar. Below is a picture of the area.
I've been using this extension on various machines and every recent system release ( in various release stages) and it has not had a problem with any of them. I haven't tested it on systems older than 7.5, but it should work. Let me now if it doesn't.
